March 12, 2014 Psalm 32
Wednesday Exodus 34:1-9, 27-28
Matthew 18:10-14
Psalm 32
This
psalm is about the joy and fulfillment we will have in our lives when we
acknowledge our sins before the Lord and they will be forgiven. Once we do that, we will no longer be a slave
to them.
Exodus 34:1-9, 27-28
No
matter how many times the Israelites turned their back on the Lord, or grumbled
and complained, he was faithful and merciful to them. The Lord wanted so much more for them then to
just free them from slavery. He wanted
to free them from the bondage of sin!
The Israelites were stubborn and stiffnecked like we can sometimes be.
Matthew 18:10-14
We
are the sheep and Jesus is our shepherd.
If there are 100 of us and one falls away from our flock, into sin and
away from God, we are to do what Jesus would do. He would seek out that person and bring them
back. It is our responsibility to look
after each other as the Lord or a guardian angel would do for us.
Dear
Lord, while we can sometimes be just like the Israelites in our thoughts and
behavior, by hiding our sin and turning away from you, please help us to always
remember that you are a Lord of compassion and graciousness, slow to anger and
abounding in loving kindness and truth.
Please let us always trust in you and help us to continually follow your
example of love in our own lives and care for each other as you care for us. Amen
