March 21, 2014 Psalm 95
Friday Exodus 16:9-21
Ephesians
2:11-22
While reading Ephesians 2:11-22 the
words of the hymn sung each Sunday during this Anniversary were in my thoughts:
“... all are welcome, all are welcome…” Jesus’s death on the cross was for the
redemption of all mankind without distinction or discrimination. In
the temple there were physical banners; walls that separated Jew from non-Jew,
male from female. Barriers are symbols of hostility. The most hostile are those
that mankind created to exclude others based on race, ethnicity, sex, or social
status - “those not like us.” By His death on the cross, we are all united in
Christ. As Christians we are all equal and must express this oneness in our
daily lives.
Dear Heavenly Father
Grant us love, patience, and
generosity to serve others, and let us see Jesus in everyone we meet. We pray
in Jesus’s name. Amen
Joan Bradley
